What is Forgetyounot
ForgetYouNot is a student-led non-profit organization focused on promoting community awareness on neurodegenerative diseases, such as dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. Created in 2023, ForgetYouNot has collaborated with the City of Pembroke Pines in multiple community events, hosted a high school student Art and English Expo, and presented to several local high schools on neurodegenerative diseases. The goal of ForgetYouNot is to promote awareness and conversation surrounding memory loss diseases, creating a safe and educational space for those affected by memory loss diseases to share their story, and for anyone interested to learn more about the diseases.
OUR why
“After caring for my grandmother with dementia throughout COVID, I was able to visualize the effects of dementia and how it severely impacted her life. Although she was no longer able to speak or move, I was able to connect with her and grow a stronger connection with her. After her passing, I created ForgetYouNot to not only share my story, but hers, and anyone who has been impacted by neurodegenerative diseases.” -Amanda Nunez-Ferreira, President of ForgetYouNot
ForgetYouNot was created with the purpose of providing a safe space for anyone affected by neurodegenerative diseases to share their story, and to serve as a student-led educational platform where information regarding memory loss diseases can be found.
